Our approach develops both encoding (spelling) and decoding (reading) by strengthening phonological awareness and its connection to written language alongside building comprehension and writing skills.
Students gain a deep understanding of how speech sounds map to graphemes for accurate spelling while simultaneously developing automatic visual recognition of graphemes and syllables for fluent, effortless reading.
As these foundational skills become automatic, students are able to devote more cognitive energy to vocabulary, comprehension, critical thinking, and meaningful engagement with increasingly complex texts.
